Yemen Blues (IL)
The almost cult-declared band, which, according to its many fans, is the world’s best live band, Yemen Blues, has crafted a sound buzzing with Yemeni traditions from Muslims, Christians, and Jews, blended with modern elements from rock, jazz, and blues. Improvisation and self-expression are at the heart of this concert experience, one not to miss at this year’s Resonator Festival.
Join us on a musical journey that moves from West African rhythms and Yemeni melodies to mambo, funk, and dance-floor grooves at Posten in Odense on November 8, when Yemen Blues invites you to celebrate.
The charismatic singer Ravid Kahalani grew up in a Yemeni family and learned the traditional songs of his heritage at a young age. When he founded Yemen Blues in 2010, he fused these roots with influences from blues, funk, classical opera, and African soul. Together with a band of exceptional musicians on percussion, oud, brass, and strings, Kahalani creates music that is both timeless and modern.
Their latest album, Only Love Remains, was released in August 2024, so they’ll be bringing brand-new music to this year’s Resonator Festival.
