Roots Koret
With the Odense-based choir ROOTS, you'll embark on a journey to various countries, as the singers love to explore the sounds and rhythms of singing traditions from around the world.
The choir's repertoire spans widely within roots music, and it’s not uncommon to hear 10 different languages during a concert with ROOTS.
Travel to the Nordic countries, where they sing folk songs and polskas. Join them on a trip to the Balkans and listen to the sharp, vibrating dissonances. Or how about a journey to warmer climates, such as Brazil or Tanzania?
The choir is led by Lene Høst, who often arranges the songs herself. Lene is a musician and composer, and she won the award for Roots Composer of the Year at the DMA Roots in 2023.
