Fjärin is a duo that immerses themselves in Nordic folk music. Kasper Ejlerskov Leonhardt and Søren Stensby both have roots in various folk music environments. Kasper grew up on Fanø, while Søren spent much of his childhood in Skåne. Kasper strums the strings on guitar, bouzouki, and mandolin, and the violin's lively and captivating tones find their way to the ears through Søren's skillful playing.
You step into a world where melancholy and contemplation walk side by side with celebration, dance, and radiant joy. The duo passionately explores the Nordic folk music universe, and with curiosity and a desire to expand it, Fjärin has created a unique sound that both builds on strong Nordic folk music traditions and explores new horizons.
Fjärin often brings along talented guest musicians, and this time is no exception. Rune Cygan Barslund is an award-winning Danish accordion and flute player. He has toured internationally and is also internationally recognized for his compositions.
As a trio, Fjärin featuring Rune Barslund will take you on a delicate journey into the Nordic soul, where both the light and dark nuances dance with each other in the twilight between day and night.
