A living legend who champions the secular transmission of several centuries of musical heritage. Lakha Khan is one of the last Manganiar masters and a guardian of the Indian musical treasure in its many and diverse forms.
He comes from generations of musicians, with his family having played and performed for over a hundred years. He’s an expert at playing the Sindhi sarangi, a sophisticated string instrument often passed down through generations, while his son accompanies him on the dholak, a double-sided drum.
With an enchanting voice, he sings about unity, harmony, and the dissolution of boundaries, and you will feel the communal and warm spirit weaving its way through your senses as the masterfully performed music spreads among the listeners and brings them together in a harmonious hub.
