Bjonko sets the tone for a Balkan party with a live intensity that leaves no doubt that we are dealing with one of the heavyweight players on the Nordic Balkan beat scene.

For two decades, Bjonko has facilitated a vibrant Danish/Macedonian cultural exchange through the clarinet and saxophone. He has also broken down barriers between roots music and mainstream genres such as rock, pop, and hip hop, while exploring more avant-garde, artistic niches.

Common to all his output is a contagious joy that, combined with a towering technical level, hits the audience right in the gut before they inevitably end up on the dance floor.

Bjonko will perform at the DMA Roots show on Saturday, November 9th.
