Long breaths of crackling, frost-clear air swirl around the stage as Mirja Klippel conjures Nordic tones together with her guitarist and musical companion Alex Jønsson. The audience is drawn into an atmospheric and organic universe, where introspective ballads reveal psychological depths, hand in hand with raw and wild landscapes.
The Finnish-born but now Denmark-based musician already impressed with her debut EP, *Lift Your Lion*, which earned her a Danish Music Award Folk as Songwriter of the Year. Since then, she has toured extensively in both Europe and the North Atlantic and released two critically acclaimed albums. *Slow Coming Alive*, her latest album, received three nominations at the Danish Music Awards Roots in 2021.
Mirja Klippel combines multiple subgenres to achieve her sound, and you will find tones from genres such as Finnish folk, Americana, dream-pop, and indie. Along with her skills as a multi-instrumentalist and Alex Jønsson's accompaniment, let her powerful voice evoke the Nordic longing, whose soft sighs vanish in the wind over the Finnish peaks.
