Drikkeviser (DK/SE) - Free event
All respect and honor to community singing from the “Højskole” songbook, but there is nothing quite like singing over a little drink. Danish Lene Høst Laura Holm Skyum, together with Swedish Ronja Grafström, have dug deep into their shared evening repertoire and found the best folk drinking songs that two-thirds of Scandinavia has to offer. Together, they invite you to a wet sing-along session about, for, and with clinking glasses, noble drinks, and good company.
Lene Høst, the local singer, composer, and choir leader, fell in love a few years ago with the "free use of the voice" that arises around tables in the late hours across the Nordic countries. Laura is originally a folk music cellist but has long enjoyed singing to a good toast in the festive company of good friends. Drinking songs and other cheeky tunes are also something very dear to folk singer Ronja. She has studied and collected a vast repertoire from several Nordic countries, which she is excited to share.
What happens when three finely tuned folk singers meet with a beer in hand? Come and find out at a delightful evening in the company of song and beverages.
